Field service resolved most early Pebble issues
Wanted to update those who were concerned about some of the issues these first-generation Pebbles are having and the field-service experience. The same day I posted my concerns about the lack of communication from support, a supervisor reached out and was able to send field support a couple of days later.
This was my second field service since picking up my Pebble in late December, and the technician this time was incredible. He really knew his stuff and knocked out my punch list almost entirely. The only remaining issue is replacement of my rear glass. It is not going clear, and since the glass needs electricity to go clear, the technician verified the wire harness was working, so the glass needs replacement.
They were able to fix:
- Door unlocking overnight: seems to be working now with a wire-harness replacement and adjustment.
- Loose wheel-well trim: replaced the clip.
- Rear-window leak: replaced the brackets.
- Cabinet-lock realignment: fixed alignment issues after the first field-service visit misaligned them when repairing loose latches.
- Sewer latch: adjusted it to latch even better than before.
Bottom line for those nervous to take delivery: a first-generation, tech-heavy product like Pebble will have issues, but having a company send field-service people out quickly to resolve them makes me feel confident in the product. My only issue was the lack of communication from support; let's hope this improves.
Maybe someone from Pebble can discuss here what their own pre-delivery inspection process looks like.
