Add clearer images, maintenance guidance, and exterior cleaning advice to the Owner’s Guide
9 months ago
I read through the entire online Pebble Flow Owner’s Guide. Overall, it seems pretty well done with good information. A few comments—just my take; your mileage may vary.
I do not yet have my trailer in front of me to review each item in person, so no doubt many of these comments might be different if I could look at my trailer while reading the Guide.
- It is a little light on images, especially regarding the iPad interface. Fairly straightforward, but when describing user interfaces, images can be helpful.
- There is lots of troubleshooting information on various components, which is great. But quite a few possible issues come down to the solution of “Contact the Pebble service team for assistance.” It is a high-tech product with limited real-world experience so far, so this is probably to be expected.
- There seems to be good coverage of Danger, Warning, Caution, and Notice items to try to keep owners safe, trailers undamaged, and everyone out of trouble.
- There are very detailed descriptions in some areas, such as understanding tire markings, and fewer details in other areas, such as water-heater maintenance. As long as under Pebble warranty, all good; but after that, it would be nice to have additional information to support maintenance and repairs.
- There are details throughout on how to clean and what products to use on almost every interior surface. Oddly, there is not a word about best practices or products for cleaning exterior surfaces, the window material, or the interior bathroom glass. Especially the window covering material could be a unique formulation, and I really don't want to damage it. Some best practices or warnings on what to use or not use would be good to have.
- It is nice to have lots of black-and-white drawings pointing out locations of various features and maintenance items. Many are undercarriage items, such as drain valves. Some drawings are paired with photos that provide additional detail, but many photos are small, tightly zoomed, or not particularly high resolution. A few high-definition, full-page images of the entire Pebble undercarriage, with detail callouts identifying the referenced features, would be helpful.
- The guide has detail images and descriptions for the multiple fuse and breaker panels, but nothing about steps to take if fuses blow or breakers trip. It would make sense to include at least a few troubleshooting steps, even if it is just: “If a fuse blows or breaker trips repeatedly, contact the Pebble service team for assistance.”
- It is nice to finally get specific manufacturer and model information for many components. Under Supplier Documentation, there are links to manufacturer information on most major appliances and key user-facing components. In checking the water-heater link, I noticed poor reviews including concerns about leaks, possible fire risk, and longevity. These may be issues regardless of brand, but they are concerning for an appliance type I do not worry much about in a home water heater.
