Great video from an EV creator I have followed for a while. Great watch for those waiting for delivery of their own Pebble, and a solid reminder for existing owners about some of the details. The presenter did a great job of explaining everything and really sold the Pebble community to viewers! I've had mine for 6 months and learned a couple things that I didn't know (or forgot). Glad you guys enjoyed it! Some companies say they are transparent and operate in daylight but do things differently. Others try to steal, copy, and say things that are not true. Here at Pebble we may not be the loudest, but we strive to be honest and genuine. And we stand behind our product and owners.

Please honestly tell us when the cameras will be functional. I was told at delivery last November that it would be “very soon.”

It’s in software validation. First rollout should be coming out in weeks. Don’t waste your money on a rear-view camera.

I got these hanging storage baskets for the corner but found they worked better under the window. Has anyone found anything useful for storage for the back corner?

A Pebble executive called me personally to ask about the owner handoff experience. They were candid that they are not happy with the owner experience between purchase and delivery. I appreciated the honesty and directness with no defensiveness.

So they are aware of the problem. I do not see anything yet to indicate they've solved it sufficiently. I believe they were sincere in addressing it and hope it gets much better. It sounds like a resource-allocation issue right now as a new company. They'll be making hard choices for some time.

That's good to hear! I had a semi-rough experience with mine in December in that it felt like my unit was rushed to be ready by pickup date. The inside was pretty dirty (handprints on the walls and ceiling), all of the drawers had dust/sawdust, and there were random screws in strange places.

The rep was nice enough to vacuum out some of the drawers, but when I got home, I noticed more dust around the interior. Easily fixed, but I remember leaving feeling like I spent a lot of money on the trailer and it didn't feel like the experience I would have assumed to be commensurate with such a purchase. But I still love the Pebble and have high hopes for the company.

That’s great to hear. I’m in the same boat where I feel like I should have gotten much more white-glove service considering the amount I was getting charged. Even having prompt communication surrounding the delivery process would have been nice.

Honestly, if they really get their stuff together you should get a gift certificate or something. It probably occurred to you too that without the dealer experience some things might get missed. I am over the dealer experience completely, though, and see the shift away from middlemen as a good thing.

Maybe they just need detailers to go through every finished unit and make them perfect again after work has been done. With my hotel, I insist housekeeping inspects after every repair, even a surge protector change or simple plumbing repair. Most workers just don't see an immaculate world when it comes to cleanliness.

Yes, cameras! Big blind spot. I have been really tempted to buy a back camera in the interim. But that seems silly when the cameras are already there.

I am curious how you got this camera to stay on. From what I’ve been able to tell, there’s really nothing magnetic to attach to on the outside of the trailer.

I used Gorilla HD Exterior Mounting Tape to affix the provided metal plate. The magnetic camera base is thus removable but hasn’t budged over rough roads.

That’s good to know. Thank you. Have you had that out in really hot weather with the sun? It seems to me like that might compromise the integrity of the exterior mounting tape.

I can get a GM camera (more expensive) that will work with the native screen in my Silverado EV. Then I can get the Invisible Trailer™ effect! It would be really nice if that connection was open source so other-brand cameras could connect. Then maybe the Pebble's camera could eventually connect to my head unit so I don't have to use two screens.

On a completely unrelated note, I’ve had my Pebble now for about a week. The temperature here in Utah has been hitting the mid-80s. My air conditioning has not been able to keep up. I set the temp to 65, but by 5 PM it’s 80 degrees inside. Has anyone else had this issue? Pebble support recommended power-cycling the trailer, but that didn’t help at all.

Do you have the blackout curtains? They help a lot with insulation, especially on the sunroof.

They told me they would send the blackout curtains separately. The only one I have is above the dinette.

We’ve had weather with temps in the low 90s off and on here in central Florida since mid-April. Without the blackout shades, I’ve had temps in my sleep-mode unit over 100. I was glad to finally have all the blackout shades in place as of a week ago.

But even before the blackouts, if I woke the trailer and set the HVAC on 76, it would eventually get down to 76 and then pretty well maintain that, with the HVAC running almost constantly. Here in the very humid Sunshine State, I am running a dehumidifier set no higher than 50% on external power, with an external drain through the gear-tunnel access grommet, 24x7 in my Pebble when not in use.

Thanks for that info. Sounds like your Pebble didn’t struggle like mine. For the last week the temps here in Utah have been in the mid-80s. I set my temp to 65 in the morning and by afternoon it’s 80 degrees in the Pebble even though the AC has been running all day.

Does anyone know what this plug-in type thing is between the charging port and the NEMA 14-50? I don't have it on my Pebble and noticed it on the marketing Pebble unit in a recent video.

That unit is probably a loaner from the test fleet. My guess would be a diagnostic port for the charging subsystem.

I was told that camera rollout was “very soon” six months ago. Of course I purchased a rear-view camera; it’s a safety issue.
