When I exit the Pebble, I exit on the left side of the magnetic screen and hold the leather strap before stepping down.

Regardless, even though this is an RV, the step risers should be designed much closer to the same distance. Building codes generally require risers within the same continuous flight of stairs to be uniform, with a maximum variance of 3/8 inch. A comfortable riser height typically ranges from 4 to 7.75 inches.

I also feel like that first step down is a long way, especially if your arms are full. I am glad to know it is not just me.
