An overnight transfer from an R1T to a Pebble using the 110V R1T outlet (1,500 W) could add +/- 18 kWh, not accounting for inverter, charger, and other losses, to the Pebble’s 45 kWh pack. My R1T Max Pack is 149 kWh.
Add some daytime solar production and it should be happy camping.
Re: toilet options. I retained a portable toilet from my truck-camping adventures. It is really quite neat and easy to bag waste. I can envision using it on extended boondocking trips to preserve Pebble black-tank capacity.
I already bought a Clesana, ready to retrofit as soon as I take delivery of my Pebble. To me, it’s a superior option. No requirement to use any fresh water, and it also gives back the entirety of the black-tank volume for gray-water overflow. Plus, one less mechanical thing to break.
I would be interested in how this works. My guess is the best toilet fit for an electric RV will be an electric incinerating toilet. An electric incinerating toilet would allow deletion of the black tank or conversion to increase the gray tank. About 1.8 kW per flush, but you can store contents and flush less frequently. Since I have 77 kWh of batteries, burning waste once a day for 1.8 kW seems like a good balance. Contents burn to ash, so disposal is easy about once a month.
As the Pebble is still in my driveway, I had to play with it to validate charging from the R1T.
Setting the Pebble charger at 10A to stay below the R1T inverter limit, the Pebble charger showed 8.6A and 1.0 kW at 120V. The iPad display in the Pebble showed 0.9 kW of charger input. Thus, a 12-hour overnight charge would yield 10.8 kWh, a bit less than 25% of Pebble capacity. That could be handy in certain situations.
Isn’t that like a $3K+ addition? Have you seen and heard the Pebble macerating toilet work? Would it not be satisfactory? I understand the concern about the black-tank size limitation, and I don’t have any experience with black-tank conservation or use of a macerating toilet, but I guess I want to try mine out first to see if I need another option. Be interested to know what made you invest in the Clesana so early. And will removing the OEM toilet create any issues with the software-defined vehicle or OTA updates?
It was $2K. It’s definitely the right option for me. Every RV I’ve ever been in has the faint scent of waste or the blue liquid in portable toilets, depending on the setup. I’m sensitive to smells and just can’t deal. Taking out the odor and ick factor completely was my primary driver, and the mechanical benefits are a bonus. As for wiring, once disconnected, I’d expect it to not detect a signal or give an error in the app that doesn’t clear, which I’d ignore completely.
Thanks for the suggestion. Would love to know results. The downside of the current toilet is that it uses a lot of water, filling the black tank too fast—definitely the limiting boondocking factor.

A squirt of Dawn Powerwash in the toilet works a charm.
The Pebble macerating toilet works fine for us: little water consumption and no odor. I tried the blue liquid in our early days of Airstreaming and found it to be a source of odor. Never again.
