How can I stop the Pebble app connection popup?

Hmm, I think a channel for the app would be a good addition. But does anyone know how to pause the app from trying to connect to the Pebble? I don't leave the iPad in the Pebble and every so often want to access the manual, but the connection popup keeps getting in the way and will not stop.

Making it impossible to get to the manual.

The Pebble app, that is. I have connected the iPad to home Wi-Fi to do searches or use Pebble Scout.
