Has anyone had an issue charging a Pebble from a 120V plug when the air conditioning is running? I tested it a couple days ago and it would not charge at all with the AC on. When I turned off the AC, it started charging again. I contacted Pebble support but have not heard back yet. Since it is so hot here, I had to pay an electrician to install a 30-amp plug.
Good comment. Seems like a no-brainer app update where you can set certain notification events: electrical interruption, battery full, etc. I would be surprised if that was not on the roadmap.
0.7–0.8 kW is what I remember. Right now all my solar is disabled.
Pebble's new beta software release may have additional refinements to improve overall efficiency.
It seems like someone commented that Level 1 charging was inadequate when concurrently running HVAC.
I would understand it being inadequate, but it was not charging at all. The charger said it was, but the app did not show incoming power from the charging port unless I turned off the AC.
Wonder if the inverter defaults to shutoff mode when draw exceeds input. Try this with a fully charged battery?

On a bright sunny day I see solar only producing 0.65 kW, 120V putting 0.92 kW, and panel consumption 0.22 kW. Are these readings the same as yours? My Pebble is parked in my driveway and plugged into a usual 120V plug. I am concerned about solar not generating fast enough. Also, when 120V is off, solar does not generate power. Are solar panels connected to the 120V button on the iPad somehow? I had to toggle that button for solar to start.
Have you done a visual inspection of your solar panels? We had two short out and show burn marks. We have an appointment to get the panels replaced.
What is your solar reading on a sunny day?
Even on a super sunny day, the angle of the sun's rays hitting the solar panels appears to be the determining factor. Max I have seen is 1.05 kW. My understanding is that it is highly unlikely to realize the full 1.1 kW.
In sunny Central Florida, on a cloudless day with clean panels and no shade at solar noon, the highest level I have seen on the energy monitor is 0.39 kW. I have asked support to review it.
In the Pacific Northwest, I saw 0.75 kW at 3 PM. The 700–800 W range is about as high as I have seen. Solar input appears to show 0 kW when the battery is full; when I turned on the AC, it showed 0.75 kW input and -0.7 kW overall due to AC draw.

I made a note to check. It is not enough to maintain the fridge forever with ghost draws.
Drawing 0.32 kW and using 0.68 kW for appliances at 9:48 AM, slightly overcast. Current panel tech may never reach 1.1 kW consistently.
Has anyone heard anything about Pebble connection to external solar panels? Scout had referenced an “Extended Solar configuration” with 1 kW roof plus 2 kW external panels, but that information was later removed. Could this relate to the mystery port shown in a video review?

Before clicking Outlets and Appliances, solar was at 0.06 kW.
I have seen solar show 0 production when the battery was not full and the sun was out. Cycling the 120V outlets button on and off made solar production start. It seems to reset power management.
If that behavior is repeatable and does not correct itself without manually cycling the button, it sounds like a software bug.

Any idea what Outlets and Appliances has to do with solar panels? Do we need to keep that button on?
Per Pebble support: the latest software's Outlets/Appliances 120V button turns off outlets and appliances to save energy, but the fridge and freezer remain on.
Yes, but why would that affect solar input?
Because the battery is full? There is nowhere for solar energy to go, so it shuts down. When there is consumption, it brings it up.
You are also on shore power. The inverter may be limiting solar. Maybe measure it with no shore power.
Wish there were an alarm or visual alert when an electric hookup goes off. When 30/50-amp power trips, it would be great to know it. Just another reminder that we will get notifications if we lose shore power.
