Can a Pebble Flow use a non-motorized spare wheel?

I’m with you—especially with a two-wheel trailer, I’d like to have a spare. But since, as I understand it, the motors are “in the wheels,” assuming that you did have a spare wheel/tire, I wonder what would be the impact on safety, control systems, Easy Tow, and driveability of replacing one wheel (and motor?) with a non-motorized spare, even for a short trip? Would that be a Pebble-supported configuration that would not violate the warranty, at least for a certain distance?

The hub motors are not integral to the wheels. They are just inboard, hence the large 65 mm offset design of the wheel. The hydraulic jacks will lift the trailer to facilitate removal of a wheel, and according to Pebble, any tire shop should be able to replace a tire on the wheel. Nice, but if I’m 20 miles into Valley of the Gods in Utah, for instance, I’m on my own with no cellular service and I wouldn’t expect to find that tire available within 150 miles.
The Pebble has no good place to store a spare—I haven’t found a carrier yet for the 1.25” receiver hitch—so I would likely just carry the spare in the bed of my R1T when adventuring into the outback.
If anyone shares my concern/desire, please let Pebble staff know that this is important to us.
