Can Rivian V2V charging use the CCS port?
Is the R1T's “bi-directional charging” able to go through the CCS port? The CCS port is beefier than the standard plugs. Is there an adapter that can exchange power that way?
My Silverado EV has a V2V adapter that goes from one CCS port, through an EVSE, to another CCS port to charge a stranded EV. Even without that adapter, I can exchange power through a 30A plug in the truck bed. Stepping the EVSE down to 24A is slow but has worked well.
The Rivian R1T and R1S, any year or model, only have 120V outlets—no 30A outlet. There have been assurances that the hardware for bi-directional charging is already built in, but there has been no public development or timeline for V2V, V2H, or V2G.
