You can tow the Pebble if the high-voltage battery is fully drained; you just won't have EasyTow assist, so you will be pulling the full trailer weight. However, the 12V battery powers the onboard computer, so if it is drained, iPad controls will not work, including disengaging the parking brake. That is where a jump-start comes in. The high-voltage battery is supposed to keep the 12V charged.
Would we be able to manually disengage the parking brake with the buttons outside the Pebble in that scenario?
There is no manual or emergency release procedure available for the parking brake when both the 12V and high-voltage batteries are completely drained. If the high-voltage pack is charged, the recommended path is to jump-start the 12V battery via the 7-pin connector or jump posts; the high-voltage pack should then support the 12V system. Once the trailer is back online, release the parking brake through the app normally.
We don't keep ours plugged in, but wake it up from time to time so solar can top off the battery. It is an LFP battery, so it can stay at a high state of charge without problems. If you are covering the solar and not waking it up to charge from time to time, plugging it in might be good. Our 12V has died three times when the LFP battery had a good SoC, and we still are not sure why.
Why can't Pebble wake up and charge itself automatically?
Where is the 12V located, and how difficult is it to access? Maybe Pebble needs to post a video, as too many owners have mentioned needing or being directed to jump-start it.
The 12V battery itself is not terribly easy to access, but you can see the bottom of it underneath the Pebble on the left side just in front of the sewer-hose compartment. You should not need to access it unless the battery needs replacement.
Jump-starting can be performed two ways: through the 7-pin trailer connection, or through jump posts after removing the access panel underneath the front-left side of the Pebble below the frame section with manufacturing stickers. Use caution: the access-panel cover is held by four easy-to-break plastic pins. The 12V battery itself is in a drop-down holder that requires wrench work for direct access.

Does Pebble always keep some charge to disengage the parking brake and make EasyTow assist work? I am planning to park it in my driveway too. Are there recommended settings for more than two months of no use? I don't want to get stuck unable to move it to a charging spot.
For driveway storage, I charge to 100% SoC and put the trailer to sleep. In cooler weather, waking it a week later showed about 1% less SoC. In hotter weather, I wake the Pebble every day or two and run HVAC for a few hours. I have not let it sleep longer than a week. I also run a dehumidifier in the trailer 24/7 through an extension cord routed through the cargo-tunnel grommet.
Should I keep it plugged in while parked in the driveway all the time?
Any recommendations for a Pebble cover? Here in the Seattle area it sometimes gets freezing cold. Will it charge if solar is covered with the cover?
Solar needs direct sun. As far as I know, once it goes to sleep, you have to wake up the Pebble to get it to charge. You can't just put it in storage and expect it to charge. Ours is in the driveway, and we wake it almost every day when the battery isn't full.
I am not sure a cover will keep it from freezing. There are settings to keep the pipes warm to stop freezing, though I think those are for camping. There are also instructions for winterizing the Pebble by draining the lines so freezing does not cause damage.
I can’t imagine a good reason for it not to perpetually charge when the solar panels are exposed and it needs to top off. What is the logic behind the sleep/death mode?
I have the same concern. A product at this price should always have decent charge to run basic operations and never die off.
Our 12V never died while we were actively camping, only while sitting in the driveway asleep. We are going to travel with our 12V battery charger with the “jump” function, just in case.
The Power Watchdog model shown has the EPO (Emergency Power Off) feature, and apparently that model will not work with the Pebble.
Regarding the 12V question, it is unclear whether there is an identified 12V issue; it appears to still be under investigation. Some owners have had apparent 12V issues, while others have not under seemingly similar circumstances. In one case, Pebble support initially identified a Pebble that could not be awakened as a dead 12V battery, but it turned out to be a communication glitch that support resolved remotely. The 12V battery was fine.
