Pebble fridge sleep timing by battery SoC, and why there's no override (staff confirmed)
I really want to understand when the fridge turns off. And I would love to have a way to override the fridge turning off. Looks like Sleep Mode will turn off the fridge. Sleep is based on SoC, according to Scout:
| SoC | Sleep after inactivity |
|---|---|
| 0% | 1 minute |
| 1–10% | 30 minutes |
| 11–20% | 5 hours |
| 21–80% | 9 hours |
| Above 80% | No automatic sleep |
Does a nightlight drawing a little power constitute activity? Energy Saving turns off 120v outlets, but not the fridge, which is 12v. So, if a nightlight worked, it wouldn't work in with Energy Saving turned on. Does plugging into shore power keep the fridge on? Or does that only work when the battery SoC gets to 80% or higher? Say, you plugged in a 10% SoC, would your Pebble sleep at 30 minutes of inactivity and turn off the fridge? How fast will the SoC climb into the higher timeout bands? And of course, this will depend on the outlet, is it 120v, 30 amp, 50 amp.
The unit does not go to sleep if plugged into shore power. 100% agree there should be a way to override. Maybe override the unit until it gets down to 10-15% percent SOC to preserve essential tasks.
