Removed the refrigerator cover panel for a more reliable door

Trouble eliminated.

The fridge cover panel was trouble from day one. The hinges are undersized for the weight, with tiny screws that didn’t have a prayer of holding up during travel. It was constantly becoming misaligned. In addition, the latch was too difficult for my spouse. I finally had enough and removed the panel.

I did this in a campground, and I’ll want to add some trim when we return home, but for now it’s a welcome functional improvement. I’ll visit the next hardware store en route for an appropriate secondary latch to back up the magnetic fridge door seal.
