iPad battery drains overnight when Pebble is asleep but iPad isn't powered off
Additional questions: (Based on 2 different attempts at same scenario over several days) When I sleep the Pebble (temp in the 40-50s overnight), the Pebble battery seems to drain down 1-2% a day. If I leave the iPad in the trailer and turn the iPad off with the iPad switch (after putting Pebble to sleep), the iPad battery seems to do about the same 1-2% overnight loss. If however I sleep the Pebble (and the iPad shows 'Pebble is sleeping', but do not turn off the iPad with the iPad button, by the next day the iPad battery will be completely depleted or very close to depleted. This is with the 'Auto-Lock' setting at its lowest setting of 2 minutes. So it is not the screen being on that is sucking up the iPad battery. Assumption is that it is cell network traffic back to Pebble HQ. Anyone know any details? Thanks.
As a gen one iPad user I wasn't surprised to hear this. I haven't used the Pebble iPad yet but if it's normal you can look up your power usage in Apple Settings.
Typically screen too bright, certain websites/browsers left open, or definitely searching for networks takes a ton of energy. Apple has built in planned obsolescence to batteries (Tim Cook needs to go) and we have battery charging strategies now, ie charging to only 80% etc, that prolong life of battery and useful work times.
I'd be surprised if the iPad actually talking to the Pebble network was draining it that fast but maybe that's a thing.

Well... as a long (LONG) time Apple stock holder and fan... and Gen 1, 2, 3, 4, etc. iPad user... I'm good with Tim Cook :-), but to each their own. But yeah, there are various ways to maximize iPad battery life. This issue is being reviewed by Pebble support. There does seem to be some indication that an iPad that is physically turned off is fine. But if the Pebble is asleep and the iPad just goes to 'sleep' (i.e. screen goes black), there is some type of network activity going on (or being attempted/searching) between the trailer and the device, and the result is a 'drain to zero' (at least in my case) on the iPad within 24 hours.
