Fast-charger compatibility is inconsistent across networks and hardware

We know that you can't charge a Pebble at a Tesla yet, but we're at a BP Pulse with 400 kW Alpitronic chargers and accidentally pulled into a NACS slot. We thought, well... maybe? We've got an adapter and it's not Tesla... didn't work.

Pebble has a list of chargers that work or don't work with the Pebble. They are supposed to be emailing it to me. I had a very bad experience Memorial Day weekend wasting time on a wild goose chase trying to charge at chargers that I guess were known to Pebble not to work.

IONNA uses Alpitronic 400 kW chargers too. It seems like the Pebble doesn't like the higher-powered chargers.

I can confirm that Rivian RAN chargers work. Made a spectacle of unhitching the Pebble after hooking up the R1T, moving it into an unused stall, and plugging it in. Took about 30 minutes to fully charge the Pebble.

General question about the solar: does anyone know whether or not the solar charge controller is UL (or other independent organization) listed? The law is changing for new units starting Sept. 1, so curious about the Flow.

The Solar Controller is a Victron Energy MPPT 150|45. As with most of the Victron line, it already has UL, IEC, and CE listings.

I did get a list. I posted what I was told here and in a sub-thread called Fast Charging. The thing is, the list was wrong. Pebble says they tested EVgo and it works. However, when we tested it, it was dependent on the type of EVgo charger hardware—the make of the actual charger.

We have been to four EVgo stations. Two worked and two failed. The details about the brands of charger hardware that failed are in the Fast Charging sub-thread.

Is it still true that you can’t charge the Pebble at Tesla? I was told four days ago by Pebble staff that we can charge at all Tesla stations that are open to other brands.

We were told yesterday that if the Tesla chargers are marked as “All,” they should work. We’ll test that sometime in the next 10 days and report back.

Because Tesla has been individually approving vehicle brands for charging on the Supercharger Network, I believe that the only Tesla sites marked as “All” are Magic Dock sites. I have found Magic Dock sites to be pretty rare.

Pebble will have to apply or negotiate or whatever with Tesla to get general Supercharger access. I have heard that they are working on that. I think if that had gone through, we would have heard a big announcement.
