IONNA confirms Pebble charging compatibility is still in progress
2 months ago
Yesterday, on the way to drop our Pebble at Fremont HQ for repairs, we stopped at an IONNA charger to test it. It didn't work, and I posted an unsuccessful check-in to PlugShare. Someone from IONNA replied on PlugShare: “Unfortunately that's true...but hopefully not for long! We've got our fingers crossed for a successful Pebble plug in at IONNA soon.”
Confirmation that they are working on it.
To be clear, the Ionna charger worked on your truck but not Pebble, and Ionna replied about Pebble? Or in general? Hummers are having issues charging at Ionna and other 400 kW charger architectures right now. Curious if your Chevy did okay.
Yes, sorry. Pebble didn't work. The Silverado EV did work. We have had some issues charging the Silverado at Alpitronic 400 chargers, especially on hot days. We think it is a thermal issue. We have derated early, then moved to a different stall and a cooler handle. The charge rate went back up to what you'd expect for our SOC.
We have always been able to charge at IONNA, just with some minor frustrations. Hummer should have the same battery and architecture as us. Are they failing to charge at IONNA or just derating?
